Step Up: The Power of Volunteering!

When I first took on the role of President of the ASSP Kuwait Chapter, I knew we had a big year ahead. But what I didn’t fully anticipate was how deeply I would be moved by the commitment of our volunteers, individuals who step forward not for recognition, but for the purpose of building something bigger than themselves.

Volunteering members are not just contributors, they are the heartbeat of our society.

With our newly restructured committees now taking shape, we are entering an exciting phase, one that offers an open door for professionals to bring their passion, ideas, and energy into action. This is your moment to step forward.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is more than lending your time. It’s an investment in yourself, your profession, and your community. It’s a way to gain visibility, grow as a leader, and develop skills you might not acquire in your day job.

Most importantly, a legacy of pride.

As someone who started in this field out of a desire to make workplaces safer, I can tell you: volunteering is how I found my purpose.

What’s Changing?

Our new committee structure reflects the challenges and opportunities of today:

  • Digital innovation in safety
  • Inclusion of youth and women professionals
  • Community outreach and sustainable practices

Each committee is a platform for real impact, and it needs voices like yours.

What Can You Bring?

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need a willingness to act. Whether it’s coordinating events, writing content, engaging students, improving systems, or launching new campaigns, your contribution matters.

Let’s build something together that we can all be proud of.

Ready to Join?

Reach out. Ask questions. Pick a committee. Say yes.
