Committees Orientation Meeting

American Society of Safety Professionals, Kuwait Chapter (ASSP – KC) an ISO 9001:2015 certified non-profit organization is committed to the advancement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices among the Industrial sectors and social groups in Kuwait.

American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Kuwait Chapter conducted an Virtual Orientation meeting on 15th August 2020 on zoom platform for the newly nominated Heads & Deputies of the committees for the term 2020-21. Chapter Secretary Mr. Safdar Ali Khan kick started the meeting with the opening remarks where in he briefed the objective of the orientation meeting. He thanked all the Committee Heads & Deputies for accepting the volunteer positions to serve the Chapter voluntarily , As per the chapter procedures and protocols Voluntary honorary appointment letters were handed over to the heads / Deputies / Advisory Members / Mentors by the core committee of ASSP Kuwait Chapter.

The meet was headed by Engr. Fadhel Al Ali, Chairman, ASSP Kuwait Chapter who has been the pioneer of the Kuwait Chapter. Mr. Jahid Thakor, President welcomed the participants and emphasized on the important role on hands that included the major targets to be achieved during the term 2020-2021. The summary of the plans are as follows

  • Enhance the professional Development Programs for ASSP members through webinars
  • Establishment of an online payment system for ASSP members
  • Revise the strategy of ASSP GCC HSE Excellence Awards program
  • ASSP profile to be registered at Petroleum Training Center as Training Vendor
  • New ventures for revenue generation
  • Engage the industry Leaders into chapter activities
  • Expand WISE Committee Activities
  • Possibility of Virtual Conference
  • Enhance the social media channels of the chapter
  • Establish COVID 19 crisis management committee

Further Mr. Safdar Ali Khan, Secretary, ASSP Kuwait Chapter delivered a presentation which featured the roles and responsibilities of each Committee, expectations, organization structure of the Chapter, Chapter protocols.

The meeting concluded with closing remarks by Chapter Vice President Mr. Mazharuddin Shaik,  and other senior members of the chapter, who wished all the committees for a successful year ahead. Around 30 members participated in the viryual meet that included  Elected Members, Committee Heads, Deputy Heads the Chapter Term 2020-2021 and Chapter Administration Executives.
